More and more people are on the internet now than ever before. Instead of using the trusty old yellow pages (remember the big fat book filled with business names and phone numbers?) people are now turning to the internet and Google to find products and services.

It isn't enough to just have a store with a great location anymore. Now you need to be on the web as well. But what do you do about generating traffic on line?

All the different tactics and programs can really be overwhelming. There is pay per click, banner ads, Google Ads just to start. But these can get costly and what is a small business owner to do?

The best method of generating a healthy volume of traffic to your website is by writing articles! Yep...articles. They won't cost you anything but your time and you are providing something your customers want anyway - information. You simply write on topics you know about and that are of interest to your customers. Then submit them to the various article publication sources on the web where other sites, who NEED content for their sites, newsletters, etc. will pick up your articles.

When these sites use your articles, they must include your author resource section along with the article. This area includes a link back to your website and there lies the key to your new found traffic. An instant pathway to the front door of your website office! The search engines love these inbound links and will index your site quicker because of them. So, you have begun to generate traffic to your website, added content in the process by placing the article you wrote on your site as well as submitting it to article publication sources and have marketed your site to potentially thousands of prospective customers and it did not cost you a dime.

So, generating internet traffic doesn't need to be expensive, just effective!

Celebrate the little successes in your day!

We all like to celebrate. It is a wonderful feeling to celebrate, especially when you have achieved a goal or some great success. Wouldn't it be nice to have that feeling more often? Well, you can.

Once thing I advise my clients is to stop and celebrate the little success in their day, every day. For example, someone calls your company but does not order anything or request any services. They just ask for information. Instead of blowing off the call, celebrate it. Another person knows about you, your company and services. They are familiar with your operation. They called you up. It doesn't matter that they did not order. Celebrate the fact that they know about you. Appreciate this and let it be one of your mini successes for the day. I promise you, if you begin to celebrate all the little success if each day, you will find yourself much more energized each day. Give it a try and see.
